Amphotericin B, capreomycin, Cephalosporins, cisplatin, loop diuretics, methoxyflurane, polymyxin 8, uancomycin, oth-er amihoglycosides: Concomitant use may in-crease hazard of nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, and neurotoxicity. Use with extreme caution.
Antivertigodrugs, dimenhydrinate, other antiemet-ics: May mask amikacin-induced ototoxicity. Mon-itor children carefully.
Bumetanide, ethacrynicacid, furosemide, man-nitol, urea: Increased ototoxicity. Use together cautiously.
General anesthetics, neuromuscular blocking drugs such as succinylcholine, tubocurarine: May potentiate neuromuscular blockade. Use with cau-tion.
Penicillins: Concomitant use results in a syner-gistic bactericidal effect against Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Cit-robacter, Enterobacter, Serratia, and Proteus mirabilis. However, the drugs are physically and chemically incompatible and are inactivated when mixed or given together. May be used for syner-gistic effect; dont mix or give at the same time. |
