Interactions:
Antacids: Increased systemic ab-sorption and possibility of toxicity. Avoid con-comitant use.

Antibiotics that alter intestinal flora: Decreased sulfasalazine effectiveness. Avoid concomitant use.

Digoxin, folic acid: Reduced absorption of these drugs. Monitor therapeutic effect and adjust dosage as needed.

Oral anticoagulants: Enhanced anticoagulant ef-fects. Dosage adjustment may be needed.

Oral antidiabetics (sulfonylureas): Enhanced hy-poglycemic effect. Monitor blood glucose levels.

Urine acidifying drugs (ammonium chloride, ascorbic acid): Increased risk of crystalluria. Mon-itor urinary status closely.

Sun exposure: Increased photo-sensitivity reactions. Tell parents to take precau-tions.
