Levodopa

  • Adverse Effect: reduced levodopa plasma concentrations and potential loss of antiparkinsonian effects
  • Clinical Management: Observe patients for reduced antiparkinsonian effects and adjust doses of levodopa accordingly.

    Theophylline

  • Clinical Management: Spiramycin may be used as an alternative to erythromycin and clarithromycin for treatment of infections in asthmatics   However, until further confirmatory data is available, closer monitoring of theophylline levels during initiation of spiramycin is suggested.
