Dosages:
  •  IV: Highly emetogenic chemotherapy (First day): 8mg by slow I.V injection immediately before chemotherapy as a single dose; or same treatment followed by two 8mg doses in 2-4 hours apart; or constant infusion of 1mg/hour for 24 hours; or single dose of 32mg diluted in 50-100ml of saline or other compatible infusion fluid& infused over a period of not less than 15 minutes immediately before chemotherapy.
  •   Oral: (second to fifth day): 8mg twice daily for 5 days.
  •   IV: Emetogenic chemotherapy/radiotherapy (First day): 8mg as slow IV injection immediately before chemotherapy/radiotherapy.
  •   Oral: First day: 8mg 1-2 hours before chemotherapy/radiotherapy; second to fifth day: 8mg twice daily for 5 days.
  •   Oral: Post-operative nausea & vomiting: 8mg 1 hour before giving anaesthesia followed by two 8mg doses at 8 hours interval.
  •   IV: Post-operative nausea & vomiting: single dose of undiluted 4mg by slow IV injection at induction of anaesthesia.
  •   In case of impaired hepatic function the daily dose should not exceed 8mg.
  •   In highly emetogenic chemotherapy the efficacy of the drug in the first 24 hours is enhanced by the addition of a single IV dose of 20mg of Dexamethasone sodium phosphate prior to chemotherapy.
