Interactions: | Molecule : Amitriptyline
Adverse Effect: attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either Oestradiol or Amitriptyline may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Amoxapine
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; Amoxapine toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered Amoxapine response is noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Amoxapine may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Chlordiazepoxide
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Chlordiazepoxide may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Clomipramine
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Clomipramine may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Dothiepin
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Dothiepin may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Doxepin
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Doxepin may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Imipramine
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Imipramine may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Nortriptyline
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Nortriptyline may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Phenytoin
Adverse Effect: Decreased oestradiol effectiveness
Clinical Management: Monitor patient for a decreased response to estrogen replacement therapy. If this occurs, a higher dose of Oestradiol may be needed.
Molecule : Trimipramine
Adverse Effect: Attenuation of antidepressant effectiveness; tricyclic toxicity (drowsiness, hypotension, akathisia)
Clinical Management: If signs or symptoms of altered tricyclic response are noted, dose adjustment downward of either the Oestradiol or Trimipramine may be successful in restoring effectiveness or resolving toxicity. However, drug withdrawal may be required.
Molecule : Warfarin
Adverse Effect: decreased anticoagulant effectiveness
Clinical Management: Since no effect of estradiol has been clinically demonstrated on the anticoagulant response to warfarin, no clinical interventions appear to be indicated. |
