Interactions:

Atracurium

  • Adverse Effect: Increased neuromuscular blockade
  • Clinical Management: Use atracurium and ketamine concurrently with caution. If used together, adjust the dose of atracurium and monitor patients for prolonged respiratory depression.

    Theophylline

  • Adverse Effect: a lower seizure threshold
  • Clinical Management: If concomitant therapy is necessary, monitor patients for seizure activity.

    Tramadol

  • Adverse Effect: an increased risk of respiratory depression and excessive CNS depression  
  • Clinical Management: Caution should be used when anesthetic medications are administered to tramadol-treated patients.
