Microbiology Department

Collection of a good specimen is extremely important in the proper processing of a specimen, which in turn leads to a clinically relevant and useful report.
If you give a good specimen you get a good report and bad specimens lead to unnecessary waste of energy and resources.
To make every one aware and also to have a consistent method of collecting specimens throughout the hospital, with the help of the computer section, I have put in a new tab in the Reports section of the network. The correct method to collect each specimen is given in detail here. Another tab gives you more details about Blood Culture. Please do make sure you follow the instructions in that section and make a habit of reading the relevant part before collecting the specimen.
