Interactions: | Fluoxetine
Adverse Effect: an increased risk of hallucinations Clinical Management: Observe patients for hallucinatory activity. Alternative anti-insomnia medication may be warranted.
Ketoconazole
Adverse Effect: increased plasma concentrations and pharmacodynamic effects of zolpidem Clinical Management: If concurrent administration of zolpidem and ketoconazole is necessary, patients should be monitored for effects such as decreased concentration and somnolence.
Rifampicin
Adverse Effect: decreased plasma concentration and pharmacodynamic effect of zolpidem Clinical Management: If rifampin is given concurrently with zolpidem patients should be monitored for decreased effectiveness of zolpidem.
Sertraline
