ACE inhibitors, drugs containing potassium (parenteral penicillin G), potassium supplements, other potassium-sparing diuretics: Hyperkalemia. Monitor potassium levels closely.
Antihypertensives: Potentiated hypotensive ef-fect; may be used to therapeutic advantage. Monitor blood pressure. Adjust dosage if needed.
Aspirin: Slightly decreased response to spirono-lactone. Monitor therapeutic effect; adjust dosage if needed.
NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, indomethacin): Im-paired renal function affecting potassium excre-tion. Monitor child closely; adjust dosage as needed.
Drug-food. Potassium-rich foods (such as cit-rus fruit, tomatoes), salt substitutes containing potassium: Increased risk of hyperkalemia. |
