Interactions: | Itraconazole
Adverse Effect: Increased risk of busulfan toxicity (myelosuppression, hemorrhagic cystitis, neurotoxicity, busulfan lung) Clinical Management: Concurrent administration of itraconazole with busulfan should be undertaken with caution.
Paracetamol
Adverse Effect: Reduced busulfan clearance Clinical Management: Until the clinical significance of this interaction is further defined, acetaminophen use should be minimized or eliminated less than 72 hours before the administration of busulfan.
Phenytoin
Adverse Effect: Decreased plasma concentrations of busulfan Clinical Management:Avoid phenytoin.If phenytoin therapy can not be avoided, monitor the patient for busulfan efficacy.
Thioguanine
Adverse Effect: An increased risk of nodular regenerative hyperplasia of the liver
Clinical Mangement: The concurrent use of long-term continuous therapy should be undertaken with caution.
