Contraindications:
Contraindicated in childrens with hypersensitivity to xanthine compounds (caffeine, theobromine) and ethylenediamine and in those with active peptic ulcer disease and seizure disorders (un-less adequate anticonvulsant therapy is given). Rectal suppositories are also contraindicated in patients who have an irritation or infection of rec-tum or lower colon.

Use cautiously in neonates and infants under age 1, young children, elderly patients, and in pa-tients with heart failure, CV disorders, COPD, cor pulmonale, renal or hepatic disease, hyperthy-roidism, diabetes mellitus, peptic ulcer, severe hypoxemia, or hypertension.
