Carbamazepine, phenytoin: De-creased topiramate levels; increased phenytoin levels. Monitor child closely; adjust dosage as needed.
Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (acetazolamide, dichlorphenamide): Increased risk of renal stone formation. Avoid concomitant use.
Carbamazepine
Adverse Effect: Co-administration causes a substantial decrease in the Conc of Topiramate. # Clinical Management: Monitor for therapeutic effects and adjust the dose accordingly.
Digoxin
Adverse Effect: Co-administration causes a slight decrease in the serum Conc of Digoxin. # Clinical Management: Monitor for therapeutic effects and adjust the dose accordingly
Phenytoin
Adverse Effect: Co-administration causes a slight increase in the Conc of Phenytoin and substantial decrease in the Conc. of Topiramate. # Clinical Management: Monitor for therapeutic effects and adjust the dose accordingly |
