| Not effective for systemic infections or cysticercosis. A laxative should be administered 2 to 3 hours after niclosamide administration when treating Taenia solium in order to destroy any Taenia solium segments released during therapy causing the release of viable eggs, thus predisposing to cysticercosis. |
