ACE inhibitors: Ibuprofen may re-duce blood pressure response to these drugs. Monitor blood pressure.
Acetaminophen, gold compounds, other anti-inflammatories: Possible increased nephrotoxic-ity. Avoid concomitant use.
Antacids: May decrease absorption of ibuprofen. Avoid concomitant use.
Anticoagulants, thrombolytics (coumarin deriv-atives, heparin, streptokinase, urokinase):May potentiate anticoagulant effects. Monitor PT and IN R closely.
Antihypertensives, diuretics: May decrease effec-tiveness of these drugs. Monitor child closely.
Anti-intlammatories, corticotropin, salicylates, corticosteroids: lncreased GI adverse effects. Avoid concomitant use.
Aspirin: May decrease bioavailability of ibuprofen. Avoid concomitant use.
Aspirin, cetamandole, cefoperazone, dextran, dipyridamole, mezlocillin, piperacillin pli-camycin, salicylates, sulfinpyrazone, valproic acid, other anti-inflammatories: Possible bleeding problems if used with ibuprofen. Moni-tor child closely.
Coumarin derivatives, nifedipine, phenytoin, ve-rapamil: Increased toxicity risk. Monitor child closely.
Insulin, oral antidiabetics: May potentiate hypo-glycemic effects. Monitor serum glucose levels closely.
Lithium, methotrexate: May decrease renal clear-ance of these drugs. Use together cautiously.
Sun exposure: May cause photosensitivity reac-tions. Tell parents to take precautions. |
