Amphotericin B, diuretics: Hydro-cortisone may enhance hypokalemia. Monitor child and serum potassium levels closely.
Antacids, cholestyramine, colestipol: Decreased corticosteroid effect. Monitor child closely.
Barbiturates, phenytoin, rilampin: May decrease corticosteroid effects. Increased doses may be necessary.
Cardiac glycosides: Increased risk of toxicity. Monitor child and glycoside levels closely.
Estrogens: May reduce metabolism of cortico-steroids. Monitor child.
Isoniazid, salicylates: Increased metabolism of these drugs. Monitor child closely.
NSAIDs: Increased risk of GI ulceration. Give to-gether cautiously.
Oral anticoagulants: Decreased effects. Monitor PT and INR closely; alter dosage as necessary.
Skin-test antigens: Decreased response. Defer skin testing until after therapy. |
