Contraindications:
Contraindicated in children with hypersensitivity to drug. Conditionally contraindicated in children with active bleeding; blood dyscrasia; or bleed-ing tendencies, such as hemophilia, thrombocy-topenia, or hepatic disease with hypoprothrom-binemia; suspected Intracranial hemorrhage; sup-purative thrombophlebitis; inaccessible ulcerative lesions (especially of GI tract) and open ulcera-tive wounds; extensive denudation of skin; ascor-bic acid deficiency and other conditions that cause increased capillary permeability; during or after brain, eye, or spinal cord surgery, during spinal tap or spinal anesthesia; during continuous tube drainage of stomach or small intestine; in suba-cute bacterial endocarditis; shock; advanced re-nal disease; or severe hy-pertension, Although heparin use is clearly haz-ardous in these conditions, its risks and benefits must be evaluated.
