Child, adult: 5,000-10,000 U IM (dose depends on length of time since exposure, extent of exposure and pt condition).
Diphtheria treatment
Child, adult: 20,000-120,000 U IM or slow IV infusion. A 1:20 dil of antitoxin infusion at 1 ml/min. Additional doses given in 24 h. IM route used in mild cases. Begin antibiotic treatment. |
