| Liver function tests have to be performed prior to and 12 weeks following initiation of therapy or elevation in dose of Pravastatin. Pravastatin therapy should be discontinued in the following cases; if markedly elevated Creatine phosphokinase levels occur or myopathy is diagnosed or suspected or there is an acute or serious condition predisposing to the development of renal failure -secondary to rhabdomyolysis eg: sepsis and in cases like hypotension, major surgery, trauma, severe metabolic/ endocrine/electrolyte disorders or uncontrolled epilepsy |
