| Dosages: | ORAL:H. SIMPLEX INITIAL THERAPY:200mg 5 times daily for 10 days.
Px. OF H. SIMPLEX:200-400mg bid/qid for 12 months. Re-evaluate before continuation of Therapy.
H. ZOSTER Rx.:800mg 5 times daily every 4 hours for 7-10 days.
V.ZOSTER Rx.:20mg/kg (Not to exceed 800mg) qid for 7-10 days.
In elderly patients reduced dose is recommended.
IV (by slow Ifsn.): H. SIMPLEX ENCEPHALITIS:10mg at constant rate over 1 hour every 8 hours for 10 days.
SEVERE EPISODES OF H. GENETALIS:5mg/kg over 1 hour every 8 hours for 5 days.
V. ZOSTER Rx.:10mg/kg at constant rate over 1 hour every 8 hours for 7 days in patients with normal renal function.
TOPICAL EYE:3% Oint.: Apply 5 times daily. Continue for atleast 3 days after complete healing.
RENAL IMPAIRMENT:In Acute OR Chronic Renal impairment the dosage to be adjusted based on the Creatinine Clearance. |
