| Severe adverse local effects, including tissue necrosis, may occur following extravasation, so only a physician familiar with proper injection technique should administer the drug. Extreme care should be taken in needle placement and use only minimal effective volume at each injection site. Chances of anaphylactic reactions leading to death can occur so patient has to be observed for several hours following a 0.5ml injection before giving a second dose |
