Metoclopramide - Antispas
Adverse Effect: enhanced hypnotic effect of thiopental Clinical Management: Monitor the patients degree of sedation. Lower doses of thiopental may be required.
Midazolam
Adverse Effect: excessive central nervous system depressant effects Clinical Management: If midazolam has been used as a premedication, a reduction in the dose of thiopental may be required.
Pentazocine
Adverse Effect: CNS depression Clinical Management: Patients receiving sedatives, hypnotics or narcotic analgesics should be monitored closely if thiopental is given concurrently and consideration for reduction in dose of one or both drugs may be necessary |
