BCG Vaccination is recommended in only those patients who are Tuberculin Negative to a recent skin test with 5 tuberculin units (5 TU). Do not use same syringe for BCG vaccination as there is increased risk of transmission of Hepatitis. Disseminated Mycobacterium Bovis Disease has been observed after Vaccination of patients with AIDS, BCG Adenitis has been observed in infants with symptomatic HIV Rx. Caution is advised in attributing a positive TB skin test to BCG Vaccination, Asthmatic patients. |
